About SaathiShift and service nature
SaathiShift is a platform that connects families with independent companions for non‑medical companionship visits (the “Service”). SaathiShift is not a hospital, clinic, nursing, or medical provider and does not deliver clinical care. Companions are independent providers; families direct day‑to‑day non‑medical tasks during booked visits.

Eligibility and account
The primary contact must be 18+ and authorized to arrange visits for the elder. Information provided must be accurate and kept up to date. SaathiShift may refuse, suspend, or terminate access for misuse, safety risks, or policy violations

Scope of services and boundaries
Included (examples)
Social companionship and conversation; non‑medical wellness observations.
Walks, park/temple visits; safe, light mobility support.
Light errands; basic tech help (WhatsApp/video calls/phone setup).
Clinic/hospital escorts (waiting areas, note‑taking, coordination).
Medication reminders (non‑dispensing).
Structured wellness reports (mood, sleep mentions, appetite, mobility, activities)

Medical/nursing care, clinical procedures, or assessments.
Dispensing/administering medicines; physical therapy/rehab.
Personal hygiene/intimate care; heavy lifting or transfers.
Cash handling/financial or legal tasks; property repairs.
Overnight/live‑in arrangements; off‑platform bookings.
Tasks beyond the agreed scope or time window.

Verification and matching
Standard verification: Aadhaar Paperless Offline eKYC, live video screening/face match, phone/email OTP binding, two structured references, team review. Enhanced Verification (optional): police verification + court record search via a third‑party background‑screening provider; one‑time fee and turnaround disclosed before initiation. Third‑party records may be incomplete; verification reduces, not eliminates, risk.

Pilot safety protocols (current phase)
Visits use WhatsApp arrival/mid/departure check‑ins and an arrival selfie with manual confirmation. Missed check‑ins trigger the escalation tree (companion call → family contact → emergency services, where warranted).
Some automated features (panic button, automated face‑match) are planned for post‑pilot rollout.

Booking, approval, and payments (pay at check‑in approval)
Rates are shown upfront before booking. At visit start, the family receives a check‑in with arrival selfie; family approves the check‑in to trigger payment capture at the start of service. If the family does not approve or raises a concern immediately, SaathiShift pauses the visit and investigates. If no response is received within [15 minutes] of arrival check‑in, SaathiShift may proceed to authorize payment to avoid companion no‑show losses and keep scheduling reliable. After the visit, a summary/report is shared. Any post‑visit issue must be reported within [24 hours] of summary delivery for review.

Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds
Reschedule/cancel ≥24 hours before start: no fee.
Reschedule/cancel <24 hours (or if no one is present to receive the visit within a reasonable grace window): short‑notice fee to cover time/travel. If a visit cannot proceed due to companion fault (e.g., late/no‑show) and the family does not approve arrival check‑in, the authorization is voided or refunded. Once arrival check‑in is approved and service begins, refunds are limited to documented service failures, assessed case‑by‑case. If a visit is cut short due to verified safety or health concerns, partial credits may apply at SaathiShift’s discretion.

Family responsibilities
Provide a safe premises (clear pathways, basic lighting, emergency contacts visible). Do not request excluded tasks; do not pay cash; do not move off‑platform. Provide accurate schedules/addresses and clinic details when escorts are needed.

Data and communications
WhatsApp/email are used for operational updates; visit reports are shared only with authorized family contacts. Data practices are detailed in the Privacy Policy. WhatsApp is a third‑party service; sensitive detail in chat is minimized.

Third‑party services; limitations of liability
SaathiShift uses background screening providers, messaging platforms, payment processors, and hosting. Outages may affect availability. To the extent permitted by law, SaathiShift’s total liability for any claim tied to a specific booking is limited to fees paid for that booking period; indirect or consequential damages are excluded.
Incidents and insurance

SaathiShift is not a medical provider. During the pilot, basic incident procedures apply; all incidents are logged. Families agree to cooperate in reviews.

Changes and termination
Features, pricing, or policies may be updated with notice. Continued use after updates indicates acceptance. Access can be suspended/terminated for safety/policy breaches.

Governing law and disputes
Governed by the laws of India; courts at Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. Dispute path: support escalation → management review → optional mediation/arbitration if mutually agreed.
