Who we are
SaathiShift connects families and independent companions for non‑medical companionship. This policy explains what we collect, why, sharing, retention, security, and your choices. It applies to our website, WhatsApp/email operations, and booking flows. -
Data we collect
Identity/contact: names, phones, emails, addresses, emergency contacts. Preferences: schedules, language/gender preferences, service scope, locality. Visit data: arrival/mid/departure timestamps, arrival selfie decision, structured wellness observations (mood, sleep mentions, appetite, mobility notes), activities, optional photos (with consent), incident logs. Verification: consent artifacts, Aadhaar Offline eKYC signature validation result (not the Aadhaar number), reference notes, OTP logs. Technical: device/IP/metadata for security/fraud control. Optional: Enhanced Verification results with explicit, separate consent.

How we use data
Deliver service: matching, scheduling, safety check‑ins, payment at check‑in approval, visit summaries, weekly reports. Safety/compliance: audit trails and incident records. Support/Improvement: respond to issues; with consent, use anonymized aggregates to improve. Billing: authorize/capture payments at arrival check‑in approval; reconcile invoices.

Lawful bases and consent
Contractual necessity: to run visits and communicate with authorized family contacts. Legitimate interests: safety/audit/troubleshooting. Consent: WhatsApp/email updates, optional photos, Enhanced Verification. Withdraw consent any time (service impact may occur).

Sharing
With assigned companions (minimum necessary). With processors: background‑screening vendors (if chosen), messaging services (e.g., WhatsApp), email/SMS providers, payment processors, cloud/hosting, support tooling.
With authorities if legally required or to protect safety/rights. No sale of personal data; no third‑party advertising use.

WhatsApp and third parties
Operational messaging occurs via WhatsApp; WhatsApp’s own privacy terms apply. We minimize sensitive detail in chat and store structured reports on our systems.

Retention
Verification artifacts: [12–24 months] from onboarding or last activity. Visit logs/summaries: [12 months] from visit unless deletion is requested (subject to legal holds). Billing/transactions: as per Indian tax/accounting laws. After retention, data is deleted/anonymized unless a legal hold applies.

Security
Role‑based access; least privilege; encryption in transit (and at rest where supported); admin audit logging; security incident playbooks.

Your rights

Service is arranged by adults; elder notes are kept for coordination with the responsible adult’s consent.
